The Caius Fund will enable the College to expand opportunities for all students at Cambridge, ensuring they thrive and go on to make a positive impact on the world
Over eight days from 5-13 December 2020, alumni from across the Americas, Asia and Pacific came together to raise over £22,000* to support students in the year ahead. Our student fundraisers enjoyed sharing their experiences of Caius with 183 alumni, with 47 gifts received (and counting!).
As students continue their academic endeavours in challenging circumstances, we are reminded of the vital importance of alumni support. All gifts, no matter how small, will help us ensure that:
- The barriers faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds at Cambridge are identified and overcome. From the moment they arrive in Cambridge, Caius Fund Bursaries support students to realise their academic and career ambitions in an inclusive and diverse community.
- Students make the most of the opportunities which Cambridge has to offer through participation in co- and extra-curricular activities. Student Support Funds ease the financial pressure on students and their families, enabling them to experience the University life they deserve.
- We preserve the supervision system which is the hallmark of a Cambridge education, giving our students access to world-leading experts. The College provided around 25,000 supervision hours last year, costing over £1.6 million.
- More full and partial studentships are available to graduate students to encourage future students to make an impact at Caius and in the wider world.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of the Caius community for their continued generosity and support.
As we settle into the New Year, we are looking forward to how we can further support our students and work has already begun on the College’s first Giving Day. If you would like to learn more about current support initiatives, or to share your own story of why you choose to give to Caius, please contact our Senior Development Officer.
