Tejas Rao (Land Economy PhD 2022) has been elected as MCR President for a second term, following elections among the Gonville & Caius College postgraduate committee.

The College would like to thank the outgoing MCR Committee, in particular Essi Harbord, who served as Vice-President. The outgoing and incoming committees completed a successful handover transition in February, and cementing the strong relationships between the MCR and College stakeholders toward postgraduate welfare continue to remain a priority.

Tejas was first elected in January 2023 and continues as President with Nikita Kozhushko (Mitochondrial Biology PhD 2023) and Jessica Moore (Data Intensive Science MPhil 2023) named Co-Vice-Presidents.

Tejas, Nikita and Jess aim to prioritise postgraduate access and accessibility, ensuring that all postgraduates experience College as their safe space. With an ever-expanding community, the new committee aims to especially build stronger relationships with postgraduate alumni through work with the SCR and the Development Office, so Caius always feels like home.

The Committee has new members and others who have served on student committees previously, including former GCSU President Natalia Emsley (Natural Sciences (Biological) and Management Studies 2020), who is one of the social secretaries.
