Incoming undergraduates: Welcome to Caius!

We are looking forward to welcoming our incoming students to Gonville & Caius College in October. Congratulations!

The percentage of incoming home students from the state sector is around 70% once again; 69.1% of students in 2023. A third (33.8%) of home entrants have at least one indicator of disadvantage. Detailed statistics are below.

A range of academic and contextual factors plus online interviews were part of the admissions process for 2023. Incoming students will receive specific joining information from the College’s Education and Tutorial Office this week.

Key statistics for Caius' October 2023 undergraduate intake: 

51.0% female, 49.0% male incoming students.

69.1% of 2023 incoming UK students are from the state sector.

12.3% of incoming students are from overseas.

33.8% of all incoming UK students have at least one indicator of disadvantage.

18.4% of all incoming UK students have home addresses which lie in the bottom two quintiles of the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD).

2.2% of all incoming UK students have home addresses which lie in the bottom quintile for progression to higher education (POLAR4).

8.1% of all incoming UK students have home addresses which lie in the bottom two quintiles for progression to higher education (POLAR4).

6.6% of all incoming UK students have recently been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM).
