Following on from our very successful daily series Caius366; the Caius52 series chronicled life at Caius, a week at a time.

We peeked into supervisions, snuck into committee meetings, followed camera crews across Cambridge, and snapped photos of our Students, Staff and Fellows.

We also paid tribute to Professor Stephen Hawking, as the College said farewell to the world’s most iconic scientist. Professor Hawking was a Fellow of Gonville & Caius College for over 50 years. The 11th image in our series, showed Professor Hawking at High Table in Hall at Caius, with students behind him. A portrait of the late scientist now hangs in Hall, and a memorial has been laid outside Professor Hawking’s room in Caius Court.

In October, we witnessed the Installation of the new Master, Dr Pippa Rogerson. Dr Rogerson is the 43rd Master of Gonville & Caius College, the first woman master in its 670-year history. Her installation as Master comes 40 years after the first admission of women as students and Fellows. We followed her first few weeks, and in image 41 we saw the Master working directly with the students to support the #Caius4Consent campaign in College.

This year has taught us that the people of Caius are the spirit of the College. Our students come from all over the world and our undergraduates study all the subjects offered in the University. Our postgraduates play a vital role in the research activities of the wider University. Our Fellows have globally renowned research expertise, ranging from Ancient History to Medicine and are all recognised as leaders in their fields.

The final photo of the series featured our staff. Our staff work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our academic community can thrive.
