Here at Caius we host various events throughout the year - from our annual Women in Economics Day to various subject days and lectures - and we are excited to build up our events programme further.
Information about all upcoming events, including links from which to book places, will be posted on this page, so do keep an eye out for the latest developments.
Women in Economics Day 2017
Our third annual Women in Economics Day will take place on the 21st September 2017 and will centre around Britain's exit from the EU and the economic consequences of this. As ever, the day will take place at Caius and will consist of panel discussions with various experts and a talk from our own Director of Studies in Economics, Dr Victoria Bateman. We are also delighted to welcome as a guest speaker Carolyn Fairbairn, a former Caius Economics student and now the Director General of the CBI.
The day is targeted at female students in years 12 and 13 who are interested in economics. It presents the chance for students not only to engage directly with the subject and current topical points of interest within the field, but also to find out more about studying Economics at degree level and to celebrate the work of female economists and women around the world. Further, it provides the opportunity to experience a Cambridge College environment first-hand and to speak with experts in their field.
The event is open to all sixth form students and Economics GCSE or A-Level is not required. Places are limited to five student bookings per school, with teachers welcome to attend also. Should the event be over-subscribed, places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The day will run from 10:30-16:30 and lunch in our Hall will be provided on the day.
We at Caius do hope to welcome you to the College in September. To book for the Women in Economics Day, please fill in this form.
