Working with schools
Caius is committed to encouraging talented young people to aspire to study at the very best universities, regardless of their background. Socio-economic factors, school ranking and financial pressures should never prevent a student from realising their potential at any higher education institution.
As a College, we are delighted to work with schools of all types to support their students in their applications to competitive universities. Caius has a full-time Schools Liaison Officer with the specific remit of working with schools and colleges to help encourage applications to Cambridge and other academically selective universities. They regularly visit schools to give talks and presentations and answer questions from students, teachers and parents. Our Admissions Tutors, Dr Sarah Houghton-Walker (Arts and Humanities) and Dr Andrew Bond (Sciences) also make some school visits to talk about studying in Cambridge.
Working in partnership with local authorities and similar organisations we deliver outreach events to a wide range of students concerning higher education. We frequently host school/college group visits to Gonville & Caius and our Schools Liaison Officer Katy Lewis spends time visiting schools in our link areas. If you are a teacher/HE advisor and would like to bring students to a talk in your local area please sign-up to our mailing list and look out for emails advertising dates when we will next be nearby.
We very much look forward to meeting you and helping your students gain the support and information they need to consider applying to Cambridge.
