Clarinettist Lola Frisby Williams (Music 2023) is joint winner of the University of Cambridge’s annual Concerto Competition, the Centre for Music Performance has announced.
The Gonville & Caius College student has won alongside violinist Imaan Kashim, a student at St John’s College, and will be offered the much sought-after opportunity to perform a concerto with the flagship Cambridge University Orchestra (CUO) and a leading professional conductor as part of the orchestra’s 2024-25 concert season.
The competition culminated in a live performance on Tuesday 5 March, during which the finalists performed in front of a panel of professional judges as well as members of the public.
