Congratulations to PhD student Catherine Porter who has been awarded the 2014 African Studies Association Graduate Student Paper prize.

Catherine presented her paper in November last year in Baltimore to the African Studies Association. The paper ‘Bound and Unbound Identity: the Reconstruction of Katanga’s Nationhood Struggles’ was praised for its originality and its in-depth analysis.
