Caians named in King’s Birthday Honours

A Professor of Molecular Microbiology who was on the Scottish Government COVID-19 Advisory Group was one of three Gonville & Caius College alumni named in the King’s Birthday Honours List.

Professor Tom Evans (Medicine 1979) was honoured with a CBE for services to healthcare during Covid-19.

Professor Evans said on the University of Glasgow website: “I am delighted and surprised to receive notice of this honour in recognition of my work in healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am enormously grateful to many colleagues across Scotland who all worked so hard to ensure we could provide the best possible clinical and scientific advice during that period.”

Dr Kevin Daly (Economics 1992) received an OBE for services to economics. He is the Co-head of CEEMEA Economics at Goldman Sachs’ Global Macro Research.
