Caian appointed third Headmaster in Teeside School’s 40-year history

An alumnus has been appointed Headmaster at a leading independent day school in the North East. Dr Huw Williams (2000), who undertook his PhD in Zoology at Caius, will leave his current role as Second Master at Tonbridge to join Yarm School in Teeside. Dr Williams will be only the third person to hold the post since the institution was founded in 1978.

Born in South Wales, Dr Williams moved to Cambridgeshire with his family at the age of 15. Following studies at UCL and the University of Cambridge, he took up a position at Westminster School, eventually becoming Housemaster. In 2015 the biology teacher moved to Tonbridge School, where he acts as deputy for the Headmaster and is responsible for pastoral care. His wife, Laura, and three young children will also be relocating.

Dr Williams said 'Becoming Headmaster of Yarm School is a huge privilege and I am tremendously excited to be joining such a successful and happy school.’
