Research interests

In addition to my research interests in German as a foreign language, I am interested in the field of Cultural Memory studies. In this context, I particularly focus on identifying and analysing transnational and regional Sites of memory (Lieux de Mémoire) of historically marginalized groups.

Teaching Interests

In the scope of my DAAD lectureship I teach "Use of German", "Translation into German" and German through Audio Visual Media".

Furthermore, I am also responsible for the supervision of the college students

Through my teaching, I am keen to convey a more contemporary, multifaceted, and diverse image of Germany.

Other interests

I am a passionate Arabic learner and interested in all things MENA, particularly Egypt. I strongly believe in equity in education and try to do my share to help close the gap.
