Mark Damazer CBE

Mark Damazer CBE is Chair of the Booker Prize Foundation and Trinity College, London, a Council member of the Architecture Association and a Visiting Fellow at the Reuters Institute.  Between 2010 and 2019 he was Master of St Peter's College, Oxford.

He was Controller of BBC Radio 4 and Radio 4 extra for six years from 2004 and had previously been Deputy Director of the BBC's News Division. Earlier in his BBC career he was Head of Current Affairs, Head of Political Programmes and Editor of Television News.

He was the senior non-executive director of the V and A and a member of the BBC ‘s Governing Body, a board member of the Institute of Contemporary British History and a former Vice-Chair of the International Press Institute Executive Board.

Mr Damazer took his first degree at Cambridge and following this was awarded a Harkness Fellowship at Harvard University. He is a Fellow of the Radio Academy and an Honorary Fellow of St Peter’s College, Oxford.

He was awarded a CBE in 2011 for his services to broadcasting.
