Spring Campaign 2019 - Meet the Fundraisers

Reiss Akhtar

My name is Reiss, and I’m in my final year of English Literature. I recently completed my term as GCSU President, and continue to be involved in the University Pakistan Society.

The past three years have been truly invaluable, and seeing the College’s continuing commitment to supporting its students is incredibly reassuring.

Vika Chiffaudel

I'm a first year language student studying Russian and German. I also enjoy participating in the French, Chinese, Polish, Czech and Slovak and Scandinavian societies.

Matt Coote

I'm Matt, currently studying for an MPhil in Classics. I completed my undergraduate degree at Caius as well, and am returning for a third year to the College Telephone Campaign.

Isobel Bruce

I'm in first year studying History. I am passionate about volunteering and charity work, and I plan this Summer to complete a programme in either Africa of South East Asia.

In College I am involved with the outreach programme as well as visiting a member of the local elderly.

James Darnton

I'm a 2nd year Classicist with a focus on history and archaeology. I'm Vice President of the Classics Society this year and enjoy Squash, the East Asian board game of Go and learning Arabic.

Etienne Dean

I am a first year Bio Natsci student. I've been training with the Caius Boat Club since starting here and I hope to be in M1 one day. I also love to play piano on the side.

Lili Donlon-Mansbridge

I'm Lili, a second year History student, and I am currently studying the social and economic history of Anglo-Saxon England.

Since coming to Caius, I have become involved in the College Student Union, feminist society and written and worked on different newspapers and blogs, alongside playing both College and University level football.

Ella Hopcroft

I am in my first year studying Philosophy at Caius. I'm finding logic and natural deduction particularly interesting, and it has exceeded my expectations of the breadth of the course.

I also enjoy volunteering at the Cambridge Churches Homeless Project, and have a brilliant time playing basketball in the College team.

Chevan Ilangaratne

I am currently undertaking a one-year taught Masters in Law (LLM) focusing on human rights issues.

I am currently co-running a legal campaign where young people unite about the benefits of EU membership from a rights perspective - these articles have been seen published on national online news outlets.

Lorna Price

I’m a fourth year MML student reading French and German, and a choral scholar at Caius. My spare time at Cambridge has been filled with music, and I’m looking forward to talking to alumni at home and abroad.

Rachael Steeles

This term I founded Caius first poetry society: The Dead Poets Society. We run weekly meetings on important themes (e.g. refugee crisis, homelessness etc.). Throughout February we have been doing a series on LGBT+ poems and poetry for LGBT+ History Month.

Dan Townsend

I am a first year undergraduate at Caius studying mathematics. I've really enjoyed life here so far, both within the course and in a range of societies which have allowed me to keep my interest in politics and modern history.
