I am a Professor in urban and regional economics in the University of Cambridge, Fellow and President at St. Catharine's College. I have an extensive track record in undertaking research in urban and regional economics with a particular emphasis on the evaluation of policy. I have been a Project Director for over seventy major research projects for Government, resulting in the publication of forty research monographs of which twenty-four have been of book length. Besides my work in the United Kingdom for HM Government, I have also undertaken research for the European Commission, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, UN Habitat III and a number of national governments countries on urban, regional, industrial and evaluation policy. I am a Master of the Royal Town Planning Institute, a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and an Academician of the Learned Society for Social Sciences.
