I’m a researcher in the Automated Language Teaching & Assessment Institute, funded by Cambridge Assessment, University of Cambridge. As such, my work focuses on questions of language acquisition, education technology, spoken grammar and natural language processing. I’ve been a member of the Institute since it was established in 2013, and I’m based in the NLIP Group at the Computer Laboratory, West Cambridge.
In the past I’ve lectured the undergraduate Linguistics Tripos paper on Computational Linguistics. I’ve also supervised various Part I and Part II Linguistics papers, as well as dissertation projects at undergraduate and master’s levels in both linguistics and computer science. In addition I’ve been supervising the summer interns in computational linguistics for several years and am temporarily Director of Studies for Linguistics.
