Welcome to our Open Days 2017!

The Cambridge University Open Days are just days away, and at Gonville & Caius prospective applicants are warmly invited to visit us for College tours, the chance to chat to our students and academics, accommodation visits – and complimentary refreshments!

Open Days at Caius (pronounced “Keys”) are famously relaxed and welcoming: there’s no need to book and you can just drop in at any point in the day. We’ll be running talks on a range of different subjects – no need to book for those either – together with general introductions to the College from our two admissions tutors. We also offer a morning drop-in session on both days where you can meet Directors of Studies and ask questions about your chosen subject at Caius.

Caius is a great College to visit on Open Day as we’re right in the centre of Cambridge (at the end of King’s Parade, next to the Senate House and just up from King’s College Chapel). Our students will be running tours of our beautiful Old Courts, so you can take a look at some typical bedrooms overlooking the courts, before heading across to our first year accommodation a few minutes away in West Road. All rooms there are modern and ensuite, and are located right next to the Sidgwick Site – home to many of the University’s arts and humanities faculties – and the University Library.

During a busy day of College visits, you may also like to take a rest in our marquee and enjoy a tea or coffee and biscuits, or a sandwich lunch from 12.30-13.30 (all refreshments are free). We’ll be giving away goody bags too, with small Caius-themed items to help you remember your visit.

You can download our full programme here, but the key times are:

Both days (Thursday and Friday):

College open for tours, accommodation visits and more from 9-5pm both days

10-10.45: Welcome to Caius - a general talk for all prospective applicants with Drs Andrew Bond and Sarah Houghton-Walker, Admissions Tutors for Sciences and Humanities

11.15-12.45: Subject Q&A Drop-in – an opportunity to meet Directors of Studies and ask questions about your chosen subject at Caius (this is a drop-in session, so feel free to come and go as you wish throughout – there’s no need to arrive at the start time)
