Three Caians have been honoured in the 2014 New Year Honours List.

Honorary Fellow Dr Noel Malcolm FBA has been appointed a Knight Bachelor for services to scholarship, journalism and European history.

Professor Peter Ratcliffe FRS has received a knighthood for services to clinical medicine.

Mr Marcus Setchell, obstetrician to the Royal Family, has been made Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order. Awards made under the Royal Victorian Order are in the Queen's personal gift and are bestowed independently of 10 Downing Street.
