Two students are en route to China to compete in the International Famous School Rowing Challenge in Changsha on Saturday. Engineering PhD candidate Ben Dyer and cox Kathryn Knight, a third year Lawyer, will be racing as part of the 8+ Cambridge Combined Colleges crew.

Organised by boat manufacturer Kanghua Boats, the annual regatta is an international gathering for university-level rowing. Teams are invited from across the world and will include Oxford Brookes, Yale, Melbourne and UCL. The event was first held in 2010 and takes place on a channel of water located on the west side of the Orange Isle on the Xiang River in the city of Changsha.

In addition to the race, Ben and Kathryn will be taking part in a televised press conference at a local school on the subject of cultural exchange.
