The Master and members of College Council are trustees of the College and are bound under charity law to recuse themselves from matters where they have a pecuniary interest. Accordingly, as we are members of USS, we are conflicted on the subject of the dispute involving Universities UK, USS and the UCU strikes. The College Council has, therefore, always maintained a neutral position. We shall maintain that position but will encourage all sides to negotiate successfully and lend our support to any such efforts.
