Caius Schools, our Admissions and Outreach team, now have a podcast. Listen on Acast or wherever you get your podcasts to hear episodes about topics relating to Admissions at the University of Cambridge.
Launched this summer, the podcasts offer an opportunity to listen in depth on topics including interviews and personal statements, explorations of individual subjects, and interviews with students and academics.
The latest episode includes an interview with two Gonville & Caius College Porters, Senior Shift Porter John Turton and Jem Reid, a Night Porter. From rescuing students who have locked themselves out of their rooms, breaking up unauthorised parties and getting to know students, John and Jem share their experience of working at Caius over 16 years and four years, respectively.
John is renowned for his memory of students, including Schools’ Liaison Officer Francesca White, who read English at Caius!
Dr Chris Scott, Caius’ Tutor for Admissions and Outreach, says: “We’re pleased to have launched the Caius Schools podcast over the summer, which gives us a great platform to dive into a bit more detail when discussing admissions questions, featuring Caius subjects and chatting with members of the College than social media allows! We look forward to producing more episodes, and to hearing from our listeners who and what they would like to see featured and discussed!”
