We are very happy to announce that we will be running our third BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) Conference at Gonville & Caius College on Friday 13 March 2020, specifically for Year 12 students within our link areas.

The day’s activities will run from approximately 10:00-15:00 and are aimed at providing attendees with an insight into what life is like as a Cambridge student, as well as providing the opportunity to immerse themselves within a college environment and get all questions answered - be that about University generally, specifically about the Oxbridge admissions process, or about societies! The day’s activities will bust myths about Cambridge and help prepare the students for applying to University.

This free event is open to Year 12 students attending state schools and sixth forms within our link areas. We have increased the capacity of the event this year to allow up to 70 students to attend. If any students are interested to attend this event, please ask them to complete the online application form, which can be found on our website (https://www.cai.cam.ac.uk/working-schools/events-and-opportunities) by 5pm on Wednesday 19 February 2020. Students will be informed whether they have a place at the conference by Friday 21 February 2020.

Places are limited to a maximum of 70 attendees overall. In the event of over-subscription, places will be assigned by the College on the basis of academic criteria. This event is for students only, however parents are welcome to drop off students outside college and then spend the day enjoying the sights of Cambridge before our 15:00 end time.

Last year the BME Conference was a great success, and we are sure that it will be enjoyed by all again this year. Please do get in touch with our Schools Liaison Officer, Katy Lewis, if you have any questions about this year’s conference.
