Caius Explore, Gonville & Caius College’s annual outreach programme aimed at helping students develop their super-curricular interests, is now open for entries.

Since launching in 2021, Caius Explore has supported students develop their academic interest beyond the school curriculum, which can support an application to the University of Cambridge. Caius Explore opened on March 25 and entries are welcome until July 26, 2026.

Now in its sixth year, Caius Explore has had near 2500 entrants. Last year 35% of Caius applicants who had previously entered Caius Explore received an offer for Cambridge study; 51% of those who were invited to our celebration lunch received an offer.

Dr Chris Scott, Tutor for Admissions and Outreach at Caius, says: “The main point of Caius Explore has always been to help students begin and further the process of exploring beyond the school curriculum. Unlike traditional essay prizes, we provide guidance and reading suggestions along with our tasks to help students get started, regardless of their background and prior experience with this kind of level of work. 

“We really want to see your enjoyment of the task shining through and your creativity. The emphasis is on the taking part and enjoying the task. We look forward to receiving your entries.”
