Caians elected to King's Counsel

Four alumni of Gonville & Caius College were among 105 names appointed as King’s Counsel (KC) in the 2024 Competition.
Appointments are made by His Majesty The King on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, Shabana Mahmood MP, following consideration by the independent KC Selection Panel. The announcement was made on January 24, 2025.
The Caians taking silk are Rebecca Page (Law 1997), Rupert Allen (Law 2000), Zack Simons (English 2003), Jason Pobjoy (Law PhD 2009).
Rebecca, pictured below, of Maitland Chambers, specialises in commercial and chancery disputes, both in ligitation and arbitration, with a particular focus on matters related to Company and Insolvency.
Rupert, pictured below, of Fountain Court Chambers, is a barrister with a broad commercial and civil practice. He regularly acts in large-scale international disputes and has particular expertise in cases involving complex and high-value banking and financial transactions.
Zack, pictured below, of Landmark Chambers, works in housing, infrastructure, commercial development and compulsory purchase. He was Planning magazine’s top-rated junior barrister in the country from 2021 to 2024.
Jason, pictured below, of Blackstone Chambers, has a diverse legal experience, working in public and human rights law, public international law, competition law, EU law, sanctions, sports law, media and data protection law and immigration law. He was also a founding member of the Cambridge Pro Bono Project at the Faculty of Law.
