Chapel Spiritual Support

Caius chapel looking East

In this time of anxiety, some of you may be looking for spiritual support.  Keep checking the Chapel section of the website.  The Chapel Facebook page will have more stuff, including (I hope) clips of music for those of you who are missing the choir, and Sunday reflections from me. I have attached a prayer leaflet, so you can do ‘One Sentence Every Day’ through the months ahead. I will also be building a prayer page over the coming weeks, so do have a look from time to time.

I am not allowed to ask you to join me in person, but you can join me in spirit - and on YouTube. Follow the links below to view the latest services:

Dear friends,

There is no holy communion from Harlton this morning because I am guest preacher at a Zoom Eucharist (never thought I’d have to type those words) for St Clement’s Church in Cambridge; it begins at 11am. You can join us live for worship by following this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6200111351

If you are missing Evensong as much as I am you may like to click on this link at 6pm and imagine yourself enjoying the anthem in Caius Chapel: https://soundcloud.com/caiuschoir/haec-dies-howells

Peace and blessings –

Here are two prayers which hit the spot in difficult times:

Daily Prayer for the Evening

LIGHTEN our darkness, we beseech thee, O Lord;
and by thy great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night;
for the love of thy only Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Daily Prayer for the Morning

O LORD, our heavenly Father, Almighty and everlasting God,
who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day;
Defend us in the same with thy mighty power;
and grant that this day we fall into no sin,
neither run into any kind of danger;
but that all our doings may be ordered by thy governance,
to do always that is righteous in thy sight;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit,
be with us all, evermore, Amen.
