Applications are invited for the exciting opportunity for the new role of Pastry Chef at Gonville & Caius College.
The post holder will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of classic and modern pastry within a professional kitchen, and will join an experienced team which prepares and produces food for buffets and high profile banquets. The post holder will be responsible for the production high standards of pastry and be able to develop seasonal menus for all the above primary responsibilities, this will include menu input.
You will have experience of working within a high class establishment, covering pastry and dough work, hot and cold puddings, cakes, chocolate work, petits fours and new methods of cookery. You will be trained to NVQ3, City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2, 706/3 or have equivalent experience.
If you are looking for a new challenge we can offer you a salary of around £25,000 per annum for a 40 hour week worked 5 days out of 7 depending on business.
