HR Officer

The Role

We seek an individual with excellent organisational, interpersonal, IT and communication skills, all delivered with exceptional accuracy and a ‘can do’ attitude. You will be an individual with a sound understanding of both HR best practice and project delivery support, capable of prioritising workload to meet multiple deadlines. You must be capable of working at pace to changing priorities with the drive to continually improve the departmental functionality. You will work closely with the HR Administrator and HR Manager to strengthen links and work collaboratively with our internal teams and departments comprising almost 200 staff.

The Department

Our HR team works across all departments within the College to provide a comprehensive, professional and confidential service to Heads of department, line managers and staff, throughout all stages of the employee life cycle.

This is a full-time permanent role, Monday to Friday and is responsible to the HR Manager. 

The annual salary is £26,760, in addition to which the College offers excellent benefits including a generous defined benefit pension scheme, 33 days annual holiday (including Public Holidays), lunch and a medical cashback scheme which gets you money back on prescriptions, optical and dental treatments, and discounts through shops, cinemas and utility providers, amongst others.

The College

Gonville & Caius College is one of the largest colleges in the University of Cambridge.  It is an educational charity and its mission is to provide a place of education, religion, learning and research, in conjunction with the University that is recognised internationally as being of the highest standard.

The College is an academic community comprising some 530 undergraduate students, 250 graduate students, and 110 Fellows (lecturers, professors and other senior academic researchers and teachers) and almost 200 staff. It plays a significant role throughout the University. Our students come from all over the world and our undergraduates study all the subjects offered in the University. Our postgraduates play a vital role in the research activities of the wider University.
