The College

Gonville and Caius College is one of the largest colleges in the University of Cambridge. It is an educational charity and its mission is to provide a place of education, religion, learning and research, in conjunction with the University that is recognised internationally as being of the highest standard.

The College is an academic community comprising some 530 undergraduate students, 250 graduate students, and 110 Fellows (lecturers, professors and other senior academic researchers and teachers) and almost 200 staff. It plays a significant role throughout the University. Our students come from all over the world and our undergraduates study all the subjects offered in the University. Our postgraduates play a vital role in the research activities of the wider University. Our Fellows have globally renowned research expertise ranging from Ancient History to Cosmology and are all recognised as leaders in their fields. The Development Office                                                                  

The Development Office is very long-established and now comprises a team of eight and it serves as the main point of contact for College alumni.  The office fundraises for the College and organises a programme of events for alumni.  The Development Office has raised more than £40 million since 2011 to meet the College’s priorities of Teaching & Research, Student Support and Buildings and Collections.

The Role

The Development Assistant (Gifts) will work with the Database Manager in the administration of charitable donations made to the College.  Training in all aspects of the role will be provided, prior experience whilst welcome is not essential. The role is a full time position, 37.5 hours Monday to Friday, and is responsible to the Director of Development. The ability and willingness to adopt a flexible approach to working hours is expected and you may be required to work additional hours from time to time in order to fulfil the requirements of the role and the needs of the College. The salary for the full time role is £23,941 per annum.
