Commis Chef & Demi Chef de Partie
Applications are invited for the exciting roles of Commis Chef and Demi Chef de Partie at Gonville and Caius College, a college of the University of Cambridge. We are looking for people to join us at an exciting time when Caius is travelling on a journey to deliver food excellence throughout our food provision.
As Commis Chef or Demi Chef de Partie you will be experienced in working in a varied number of sections within the Kitchen including vegetable, larder and pastry. Qualified to NVQ 2/3 in professional cookery you will have a keen interest in modern pastry, street food, modern techniques and varied cuisines. The roles will report to the Head Chef and Sous Chefs and you should be willing to learn new techniques in all areas.
The salary for these posts is in the region of £17,000 for Commis Chef and £18,000 for Demi Chef de Partie,for a 40 hour week, 5 days out of 7. The College offers automatic enrollment into a pension scheme and 33 days annual holiday (including Public Holidays), together with a uniform, meals on duty and a medical cashback scheme.
