Applying in autumn 2021?

Students working in the library

This page is for students who are considering applying to Caius/Cambridge in autumn 2021. You may find it useful to bookmark it, as it will be regularly updated with news and upcoming events as the year goes on.

Applying to Cambridge can seem like a very complex process at the best of times; in the context of a global pandemic, it might seem especially hard to know how to navigate the various stages of the application process, and the run-up to it. (Note that it is advisable for Cambridge applicants to start their thinking about and preparation for their application early - i.e. near the start of 2021, rather than in August/September!) At Caius we want to give you as much support and encouragement as we can as you prepare your application. Our outreach Youtube channel is full of videos from our Admissions Tutor, current students, alumni and academics - right the way from advice about the application process, to insights into student life, to taster lectures which might help you develop your interest in your chosen subject, or even choose your course. You can also follow Caius Schools on Instagram.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us. You can also ask our students, who are happy to answer any questions you might have!

We are open to visits from individual prospective applicants. To book one, please email admissions@cai.cam.ac.uk

Summer open days

Late July 'mini open days'

We are pleased to say that we will be running 'mini open days' in Caius in the week beginning 26th July. These will include the opportunity to go on a tour of the College led by current undergraduate students and to hear a talk about the College and its admissions process from our Admissions Tutor or Senior Tutor. To register to attend one of these days, please use this link, where you can also find further information.

Further dates

More College open days will take place on the 16th and 17th September. Further information will be posted here in due course.

Caius Explore

Caius Explore is a new initiative for year 12 (or equivalent) students at UK state (non-fee-charging) schools or colleges. We are offering challenges in a range of subjects aimed at supporting students in developing their academic interests and exploring beyond the school curriculum. Caius Explore launched in late April, with challenges in the following subjects open until the end of July:

Archaeology, Anglo Saxon, Norse and Celtic, Education, Engineering, History, HSPS, Law, Linguistics, Medicine, Philosophy, Physical Natural Sciences.

Participating students are able to submit their work, in the form of a piece of writing or video, if they would like to; we will pick our favourites and invite their creators to come to Caius for a day of further exploration.

Head here for more details and to see the challenges!
