The Stephen Hawking Circle

In July 2007, the College Council set a further level of recognition for those making total lifetime gifts of £50,000 and above: the Stephen Hawking Circle.

New Members of the Circle and their partners will be invited to attend a private lecture given by Stephen Hawking (1965) on his work. The lecture will be followed by a dinner with Professor Hawking, hosted by the Master, in the panelled Combination Room. Professor Hawking has said that he hopes this new initiative will help to provide a significant boost to the College's fundraising.

The first Celebration of the Stephen Hawking Circle took place on Friday 15th February 2008 in the beautiful Panelled Combination Room. In order to make this a very special experience, and to enable all our guests to meet Professor Hawking, numbers were limited to no more than 12 Benefactors and their guests. This annual event has become a highlight of the Caius calendar.
