Meet our Access Officer

Hi, I’m Grace, the current Access Officer on the Gonville & Caius Student Union (GCSU). My role includes getting current students involved in online and in-person outreach activities, with the aim of increasing the diversity of those who make applications. At Caius, we have a fantastic group of students who love their experiences of studying at Caius and want to encourage and assist any pupil who is passionate about their subject to come and experience it too. If you’re interested in Caius I really encourage you to chat to some of our students on The Access Platform, via the link on our website.

I grew up in Clitheroe, a small town in East Lancashire, and went to Ribblesdale High School and Clitheroe Grammar Sixth Form (both of which were non selective). I found Caius due to their big banner on the open day and I really felt at home as soon as I stepped inside. I feel that Caius is making a lot of progress in terms of diversity and state-school admissions and I am keen to continue this success. I would love for alumni and current students to get in touch with ideas and David and I will be using Caius’ social media accounts to give prospective students an insight into life here.

I help to organise tours and access events both virtually and in person (along with my two co-opts Carenza and Rosie) so please reach out if you would like more information on how you can visit Caius or meet the students. Also, in consultation with the Class Act and BME Officers on the GCSU, I help voice student perspectives on what can be done to ensure that the admissions process is fair for everyone, regardless of background.

My email is so please feel free to get in touch!
