Caius Research Fellow John Gallagher, who was named by the BBC and AHRC as one of their New Generation Thinkers for 2013, has presented his research on the history of the foreign language phrasebook on BBC Radio 3. The programme gives an insight into Early Modern London and the different uses of these books from merchants’ tools to workbooks for students.
