Aviation on COP26 agenda with Caius Fellow

Gonville & Caius College Fellow Professor Rob Miller is appearing at the COP26 United Nations Climate Change Conference on Wednesday 10 November.

The University Professor of Aerothermal Technology and 1969 College Lecturer is Director of the University of Cambridge’s Whittle Laboratory and is appearing in two events, detailed below, as part of his role on the Aviation Impact Accelerator leadership team.

Target True Zero: Catalysing Action on Novel Propulsion

The World Economic Forum and McKinsey & Company will be hosting an in-person Target True Zero event at COP26 in Glasgow focusing on 'Catalyzing Action on Novel Propulsion' with contributions from project partners the University of Cambridge’s Aviation Impact Accelerator and the Aviation Environment Federation.

Professor Rob Miller will present some initial technical findings of the AIA’s whole system model as part of the Target True Zero initiative.

University of Cambridge’s Aviation Impact Accelerator event: Accelerating Aviation to Climate Neutrality 

10 November, 3pm-3.30pm, The Action Hub, SSE Hydro Building, Hall 4, Blue Zone, Scottish Event Campus 

This fireside chat between Prof Rob Miller (Whittle Lab Director), Eliot Whittington Policy Director, CISL) and John Holland-Kaye (CEO, Heathrow) will explore the opportunities and challenges for climate neutral aviation and the need for a whole system of aviation perspective. The hosts will provide a sneak peek into the Aviation Impact Accelerator simulator prototype to demonstrate its potential to guide innovation, investment, and policy action. The live Action Hub audience will be asked to actively contribute to this session.
